About this Event

🥣 Queer Soup Night

Tuesday, September 22nd
6:30pm-8:30pm
114 Hunt St, Durham, NC 27701 (next door to the Center's other building. If you are at 118 Hunt, just walk next door)

Come as you are and join us for an evening of good food, community, generosity, and collective care. Whether you’re dressed in your best Pride attire or coming straight as you are, there’s no pressure just come be part of the community. 💜

This Queer Soup Night, we’re proud to support the LGBTQ Center of Durham and their Pride Campaign for $50K in 2026.

Funds raised will support the Center’s work to create an authentic, accessible Pride and provide year-round resources for our LGBTQ+ community. We’re also helping raise awareness and support for the Center’s Food Pantry, which connects community members with essential food and resources.

A portion of event proceeds will also help cover the incidental costs of hosting Queer Soup Night, allowing us to continue creating community-centered gatherings rooted in food, connection, generosity, and care.

🍲 What to Expect

Come enjoy a warm bowl of soup, connect with community, and learn more about the work happening at the LGBTQ Center of Durham.

Suggested donation: $5–$20
No one will be turned away for lack of funds. 💜

Donations will be collected in person at the event via Venmo (@ QSNDurham) or cash. Give what you can every contribution helps.

👩🏽‍🍳 Meet Our Chef: Danica Lee of DLxKitchen

We’re excited to welcome Chef Danica Lee, owner of DLxKitchen!

Danica began making homemade chili oil for fun and gifting it to friends and family. In 2024, she was inspired to start offering her chili oil to support mutual aid campaigns for friends. Food has always been one of her favorite ways to connect with people, and she loves experimenting with and sharing chili oil, baked goods, and other food as a way to help others.
