Dylan Miles Frechette is a 20-year-old guitarist and songwriter from Orlando, Florida, who picked up his first instrument at age three. He began on drums, learning rhythm, feel, and timing, before shifting to guitar at age six. By seven, he had already become a left-handed player, a style that continues to give his sound a unique character and unmistakable flair.
Dylan moved to Denver, Colorado at age six and was quickly embraced by the local music scene. Within months, he was playing shows with established musicians and appearing on stages like Cervantes Ballroom. His formative years were spent studying at the Denver School of the Arts, where he focused on guitar performance and jazz. He also trained under some of the most respected names in the industry, including Oteil Burbridge (Allman Brothers / Dead & Co.), Luther Dickinson, and the Roots Rock Revival family.
Today, Dylan is a Junior at Loyola University New Orleans, majoring in Popular and Commercial Music. Loyola was just ranked among Billboard Magazine’s Top 5 Best Music Business Schools for 2025, and Dylan is immersed in the heart of the New Orleans music community, both academically and on stage.
He performs as part of his rising New Orleans funk band SURCO, made up of fellow Loyola musicians. SURCO is gaining serious momentum, writing original music, headlining the Maple Leaf Bar, and performing at NOLA Funk Fest two years in a row.
Dylan is also still pushing forward with Dylan & Declan, the original punk-funk-jam project he formed with his best friend Declan Scully back in high school. The duo continues to write, perform, and grow their sound.
Some standout highlights from the past year include Dylan performing as an Artist-at-Large at NOLA Funk Fest 2025, sharing the stage with veteran New Orleans musicians and establishing himself as one of the youngest players making waves in the city’s legendary music scene.
His solo project, The Dylan Miles Experience, remains the core of his artistic identity, and will continue to live on forever.
With fearless improvisation, rich tone, and a blend of funk, blues, and rock, Dylan channels influences like Jimi Hendrix while carving out a sound that is entirely his own. Whether with SURCO, Dylan & Declan, or The Dylan Miles Experience, Dylan is bringing a new generation of guitar-driven music to life—one show, one city, and one riff at a time.
