This year the Woodland Heights Neighborhood Clean-Up (Dumpster Day) will be held on April 19th from 8:00am until 12:00pm. We will have dumpsters setup at 304 W Chase St for neighborhood residents to dispose of items.
The event:
If you're new to the neighborhood here’s a short summary of the event: The city provides funds for neighborhood clean-ups. Dumpsters are rented for 4 hrs. Neighborhood residents are encouraged to get rid of items that are too large for regular trash pick-up. Brush is also accepted. The location is 304 W Chase St (near the intersection of Chase St. & Campbell Ave).

How can I help?
Several jobs are available and you can contribute regardless of physical abilities. Most volunteers help empty junk out of trucks, trunks, and trailers. We get several tons of junk out of our neighborhood. (This can be gross at times, but you may find that lamp you’ve been looking for!)
Some yard-work-loving folks assist unloading brush and can help feed a chipper on site for dumpster efficiency. (My personal favorite role.)
We also have people to check-in volunteers, vehicles, help direct traffic, answer questions, and other less physical tasks. (Bring your own stool or chair.)
The elite of Dumpster Day volunteers are those with p/u trucks. We arrange it so senior or disabled neighbors can reach out to have large items picked up. You team up with helpers and are given locations for p/u. Be a key player in the clean-up efforts. (More trucks the merrier).
