This psychological thriller follows a family to their Appalachian farmhouse, where they encounter an unimaginable horror.
In the summer of 1994, psychologist Daniel Hill buys a rustic farmhouse nestled in the rolling hills of West Virginia.
Along with his wife and teenage daughter, the family uproots their lives in Ohio and moves south. They are initially seduced by the natural beauty of the country setting. That soon changes when they discover a hidden room in the basement with a well, boarded shut and adorned with crucifixes.
Local legends about the previous owner being an exorcist come to light, but by then, all Hell has broken loose.

Nick Roberts is a native of St. Albans, West Virginia. As early as he can remember, he was always drawing, reading, watching movies, and writing stories and screenplays. Aside from being an avid film buff, his childhood included hanging out with neighborhood friends, playing soccer and basketball, and earning the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.
Throughout his teenage years and early twenties, Nick, like so many people from Appalachia, struggled with substance use disorder. Sports and education were all but forgotten as drinking and drugging insidiously took hold of his life.
In April 2012, Nick sought treatment at Recovery Point West Virginia (formerly called The Healing Place of Huntington) and has since lived a life of sobriety one day at a time. With the support of friends and family, he was encouraged to continue his education and help others. He went back to college and graduated from Marshall University with a BA in English, an MA in Teaching, and an EdD in Leadership Studies, and minoring in Criminal Justice, History, and Latin.
While attending school, he maintained employment and started his own family, marrying the love of his life, Amy, and raising his stepson, Keagan, and his other two children, Cora, and Jack. From 2018 to 2024, Nick worked as an English teacher in West Virginia and South Carolina. He also spent his nights and weekends writing and publishing until he was able to become a full-time author.
