Pastel Masterclass with renowned Australian naval artist Robert McRae
About this Event

See HMAS Vampire (II) from a different perspective in this three-hour pastel masterclass led by acclaimed Australian naval artist Robert McCrae.

Working aboard Australia’s largest museum vessel, participants will explore the distinctive shapes, structures and details of The Bat through the medium of chalk pastel. Robert will share his knowledge and techniques for capturing the character of naval vessels, offering guidance throughout the session as participants develop their own artwork inspired by HMAS Vampire (II).

Whether you’re an experienced artist or simply keen to try something new, this hands-on workshop offers a unique opportunity to draw aboard one of Australia’s most iconic naval vessels. All materials provided - simply bring yourself and an open mind!

About Robert McRae: Bob has been passionately painting ships and vessels since the 1990s. He has actively taught students as a professional art teacher for over 30 years.
