Dragon Boat Festival Celebration - Community Fair
Welcome to IPAC’s annual Dragon Boat Festival Cultural Fair! This year’s event will be held in Markham and will bring together Dragon Boat Festival traditions, intangible cultural heritage crafts, interactive games, family-friendly activities, an artisan market, live performances, and community health resources to create an immersive cultural fair experience.
Upgraded Fair Experience: After check-in, each family will receive a Duanwu scented sachet and starting festival coins. Coins can be used for cultural experiences such as lacquer fan making, lacquer bookmark making, and five-coloured bracelet crafting. They can also be redeemed for small gifts such as postcards, plush toys, and peace buckle pendants. Families may also use coins for children’s face painting or indoor playground passes.
Classic Interactive Games: The event will feature traditional game challenges such as Shoot the Five Poisons, Pitch-pot, and booth quizzes. Participants can earn extra coins by completing games or making purchases at the Artisan Market.
Booths and Performances: The event will also feature guqin music, tea ceremony, incense relaxation, live floral arrangement, and a senior band performance.
Our Artisan Market will include booths featuring heritage Wamao crafts, cultural and creative handmade goods, essential oils and aromatherapy products, toys, cotton candy, popcorn, milk tea, and tea tasting.
Community service booths related to mental health, dental health, and youth public welfare projects will also provide resource sharing and health information for residents.
Families, community members, and friends are warmly invited to join us for this festive cultural celebration.
