Dr. Erin Zaffini: "Challenge by choice: How to use rotating centers in your music classroom"

The Keene State College Music Department is pleased to announce the 2026-2027 Keene State College Music Department Outstanding Alumnus Recognition Award to Dr. Erin Zaffini, Class of 2003.
Dr. Zaffini will be presented with this award followed by a free and open to the public lecture entitled, "Challenge by choice: How to use rotating centers in your music classroom".
Session Description: Curious about music centers but not sure how you might use those in different music class settings? This interactive session introduces practical, inclusive strategies for designing and managing engaging, student-centered music centers that foster creativity, independence, and collaboration within the general music setting. Students will collaborate to explore how centers can authentically support differentiation, accessibility, and culturally responsive teaching while making assessment more meaningful. While collaborating, students will identify ways to adapt activities for diverse learners in their own specific classroom settings so that centers will be set up for success.
