Dover Stone Church and Nellie Hill Preserve

Time for some bush walk verticals! This time we will go to Dover Stone Church and Nellie Hill preserves.

We will pass through rivers, creeks, waterfall, cave and have a lunch by the top of the mountain.

If we will have enough time we will visit Roger Perry Memorial preserve as well.

This is a loop walk!

6:45 AM - Meeting at center of Grand Central Terminal (look for a round information kiosk)

7:09 AM - Departure from Grand Central to Manitou train station

8:52 AM - Transit at Southeast station

9:34 AM - Arriving to Dover Plains station

9:50 AM - Meeting rest of the group at Dover Stone Church

2:30 PM - Reaching Nellie Hill preserve

4:00 PM - Returning to Dover Plains station

6:42 PM - Arriving to Grand Central station

**** HOW TO GET THERE and BACK ***

Harlem line:

Way to: Grand Central to Dover Plains (look for a 7:09 AM train with transfer at Southeast station)

Way back: Dover Plains to Grand Central (look for 4:23 PM train with transfer at Southeast station)

By car: ask a group if someone is driving and can give you a ride.

*** USEFUL INFO ***

About 10 miles hike (at least 30% will be bushwalking)

Total elevation: 1100ft

Please don't come late as the train will NOT wait for you.

Walkie-talkie: our frequency: 462.6125 or 462.6375 (Channel 3 and 4)

Please bring enough water and food for 6 hours.

We do not recommend you to swim at lakes and rivers.

We suggest getting train tickets in advance at Grand Central station or through the MTA travel time app.
