Dover and Massengale Lecture
About this Event
Two of the country’s leading voices on walkable cities, Victor Dover and John Massengale, will be in Richmond for a public lecture on how great streets shape great places.
Dover, a nationally recognized town planner and former chair of the Congress for the New Urbanism, and Massengale, a New York architect and urban designer, are the co-authors of the widely acclaimed book Street Design: The Secret to Great Cities and Towns. Their work shows how the design of everyday streets determines whether a city feels safe, inviting, and livable.
Through photos, drawings, and real-world examples, they will share practical lessons on creating streets that work for people, not just cars. Expect clear ideas you can take home about what makes some streets thrive and others fail.
Open to the public. Free to attend.
