Dotty Art for Dotty People (An Intro to Pointilism)
About this Event
Art for Dotty People is a relaxed, playful art session for anyone. It's an introduction to Pointillism, a simple and accessible, quick form of artwork. Part of the Summer at SWAMP series.
We’ll start the session with tea, coffee, biscuits and a general chat, leading into a discussion on the kinds of things we’d like to paint. The group can look through magazines and printouts for something to copy, draw each other, or something from their phones.
We’ll then spend an hour exploring pointillism (making pictures using simple dots of colour). There’s no pressure to get things “right”, no experience needed, and plenty of time to go at your own pace.
Using everyday tools like cotton buds and paint pens, we’ll create colourful, textured artworks that look impressive without being fiddly. The session is calm, social, and gentle on the hands, with plenty of time for a blether along the way.
