Dope Is Death Film Screening

Join us for this screening of a film by Mia Donovan, Dope is Death: the story of how Dr. Mutulu Shakur, stepfather of Tupac Shakur, along with fellow Black Panthers and the Young Lords, combined community health with radical politics to create the first acupuncture detoxification program in America in 1973 - a visionary project eventually deemed too dangerous to exist.

Agenda

• 6PM Community Clinic: we will open the doors for our community clinic, offering guided meditation, body work, auricular acupuncture, healthy food, and sound and light bathing
• 7PM FILM, the film screening will begin; snacks and beverages served.
• 8:30PM Panel on the conclusion of the screening, we will hold a panel and Q&A hosted by NADA representatives and partners;
• 9PM Clinic, we will open up the community clinic again

The community space will uplift the work of the Black Panthers, the Young Lords, and Dr. Mutulu Shakur.
