Doors Open Day: Imaging Centre of Excellence tour
About this Event
Event details
Visit us at the University of Glasgow’s Imaging Centre of Excellence, on the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital campus, and discover how advanced medical imaging is helping researchers and clinicians better understand the human body and brain.
The building will be open to drop-in visitors between 10am and 3pm on both Saturday 19th September and Sunday 20th September. Throughout the day, you’ll be welcomed at reception by researchers from the centre, where a rotating display of posters will introduce some of the exciting research taking place in the building. Staff will be on hand to chat, answer questions and explain how imaging is used in research and healthcare.
Bookable tours are also on offer, for a closer view of the most powerful MRI scanner in Scotland and a visit with the engineers who design and build bespoke MRI coils for use at the Imaging Centre and across the world. Click on 'Check availability' to reserve a tour space at either 11am or 1pm.
Tours must be booked in advance. Please note that access to some areas may be limited and visitors will be guided by staff at all times.
