Doomsday Astronaut (Romania)
Doomsday Astronaut is an instrumental progressive metal band from Sibiu. The band was founded in 2022 by guitarist Waqas Ahmed and since its inception, Doomsday Astronaut has been one of the fastest rising bands in the Romanian underground scene. Starting with the prestigious grand prize at Posada rock in 2022, Doomsday Astronaut continued their meteoric in 2023. Waqas Ahmed won the award for the best guitarist at constelati rock 2023 and The band played a big number of major local festivals which enabled them to share the stage with legendary acts such as Pantera, Leprous , Soen, Carcass and Paradise Lost. 2024 proved to be the biggest year in the bands short but dynamic career as they started off by securing 3rd place at Constelati rock 2024 along with individual prizes for Waqas Ahmed (best guitarist) and Andy Dragomir (best bassist). Their biggest achievement was however yet to come, Doomsday Astronaut were the winners of the Romanian Wacken battle earning themselves the right to represent Romania at the metal holy ground in Germany. Competing with bands from another 30 countries, Doomsday Astronaut secured 4th place on the podium at the global Wacken battle in Germany. The band also created a small piece of history as being the first and so far only instrumental band in the twenty year history of the Wacken Battle. With 3 album releases behind them, As well as a list of impressive accomplishments, Doomsday Astronaut's unparalleled virtuosity and massive wall of sound cements their status as one of the most unique, fresh sounding and dynamic bands in the local scene.

Gri is a rising force in Romania's alternative metal scene, hailing from Cluj-Napoca. Formed in 2021 by experienced musicians with backgrounds in bands like FronT, Targ3t, Times of Need, Eat Your Heart, and Skullp, the group quickly established their distinctive sound, blending elements of alternative, rock, metal, and grunge. Their music is characterized by heavy riffs, catchy melodies, and thought-provoking lyrics, resonating with listeners who crave a fresh and authentic sound.
With raw energy and powerful performances, Gri has shared the stage with renowned Romanian acts like Luna Amara, Coma, Implant pentru Refuz, Imund, and many others. Their breakthrough EP, released in late 2023, included the critically acclaimed track "Știu" featuring Mihnea Blidariu’s earth-shattering vocals, immortalized by a captivating music video.
Currently, Gri is hard at work finalizing their highly anticipated debut album, while also hitting the road to connect with fans across Romania.

Trupa Gri din Cluj-Napoca, este o forță în ascensiune pe scena alternative metal românească. Formată în 2021 de muzicieni experimentați cu background în trupe precum FronT, Times of Need, Targ3t, Eat Your Heart sau Skullp, grupul și-a găsit repede rezonanța distinctă, îmbinând elemente de alternative, rock, metal și grunge. Muzica lor este caracterizată de riff-uri grele, melodii catchy și versuri care provoacă la reflecție, rezonând cu ascultătorii ce tânjesc după un sound proaspăt și autentic.
Cu energie brută și performanțe puternice, Gri a împărțit scena cu trupe românești renumite precum Luna Amară, Coma, Implant pentru Refuz, Imund și mulți alții.
EP-ul „Știu”, lansat la sfârșitul anului 2023, include piesa omonimă cu participarea și vocea cutremurătoare a lui Mihnea Blidariu, imortalizată de un videoclip captivant.
În prezent, Gri lucrează din greu la finalizarea albumului de debut, simultan țintind, una câte una, scenele românești pentru a se conecta cu publicul din întreaga țară!
