Join us for a day of learning, connections, and empowerment at the Domestic Violence Conference. This event aims to raise awareness about domestic violence, explain the steps of a domestic violence case, provide an overview of victim's rights, explain no-contact orders (civil and criminal), and highlight community resources for survivors.

Host: Dr. Maria Corona
Info: This session will deepen understanding of how societal systems, cultural norms and personal biases shape our response to domestic violence. Dr. Corona will lead participants to reimagine safety and healing by challenging traditional approaches to βsafetyβand βjusticeβ
by centering survivor voices, community care, and culturally responsive practices. Attendees will be guided to identify concrete strategies for individuals and communities beyond awareness.

Domestic Violence Panel Discussion
Info: Panel will consist of City of Dubuque Police Department, Dubuque County Sheriff's Department, Dubuque County Victim Witness Coordinator, Victim Advocate from Waypoint Services, and Treatment Services Manager from the Iowa Domestic Abuse Program. This panel will take attendees through a DV case, from reporting to ongoing victim/survivor/perpetrator education and support.
