Established in 2010 as a vehicle for the accessible, groove driven compositions of saxophonist Dom Franks, StrayHorn Quartet come to the club fresh from a UK tour and on the back of a glowing 4* Jazzwise review of their current album 'Duality Pt. 1'. Combining lyrical themes with Brazilian and African influences and adventurous swinging improvisations, StrayHorn Quartet features Stroud based guitar firebrand Matt Hopkins (Hopkins-Hammond Trio), in-demand organist Anders Olinder and former Pee Wee Elllis/Ian Ballamy drummer Andy Tween. Dom Franks is a former winner of the Daily Telegraph Jazz Award, and now combines a busy career as a performer and composer with work in music education.
