“An absolute delight of working class rage…If only these three characters could take charge of the United States for a few years.” – Egregious
An of-the-moment social comedy with enduring ramifications, 9 to 5 focuses on the trials and tribulations of three working women, fabulously played by Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and the late, great Dolly Parton (making her extraordinary movie debut). Suffering under the world’s worst—and most sexist—boss (Dabney Coleman), the trio live out their madcap fantasies of revenge and ultimate triumph, proving themselves in the process. Powered by Dolly’s timeless title theme tune, 9 to 5 remains razor-sharp satire on the institutional and interpersonal misogyny of American corporate life, as well as a raucous, rousing crowd pleaser.
This 100% FREE screening is presented by St. Louis Democratic Socialists of America, who will introduce the film. No ticket required. Seats are first come, first served.
