The DMV Vanguard community has scattered to the winds. Some have tried to stay in contact, but most of us have grown up and moved on. So... it's time for reunion! And what better way to get together, then to compete and relive the glory days.This tournament will be held at Hashtag Gaming Arena on January 31st 2026. There are 16 open slots for those who wish to play in this tournament, but you are not required to play if you just want to show up. The venue has a full bar, an arcade, and plenty of extra seats. To sign up for the tournament, fill out this form below. If we exceed 16 players, there will be waitlist that is first come first serve.

Rules are simple.
All decks must only be made with cards that released before or on April 14th, 2014.
All extra sets up to Extra Booster: Mystical Magus
All booster sets up to VG-BT14 Brilliant Strike
All starter decks up to VG-TD12: Dimensional Brave Kaiser
All promo packs up to Cardfight Pack Vol.13 (ENG)
(this was the most balanced early meta before Nouvelle came out)
Entry Fee: FREE
Format: Swiss Rounds (no top cut), 50 Minutes, Best of 3
Rounds: 3-4 (based on sign ups)
Check in time: 11:30am
Start time: Noon
Proxies: You may proxy your entire deck, but all proxies must be sleeved and the same size and thickness.
Prizes: Bragging rights to anyone undefeated
We will also be taking a group picture at 5pm EST. The store will remain open until 2am so I expect many people to be hanging around even after the tournament ends.
