Washington, DC 20024

Please join us at Politics and Prose for a conversation with author Lorissa Rinehart celebrating the release of Winning the Earthquake, a new biography that captures the bold life and enduring legacy of Jeannette Rankin — the first woman elected to the U.S. Congress and a lifelong advocate for peace, justice, and the rights of women and children.

The evening includes a conversation with Rinehart and Cynthia Richie Terrell, founder and executive director of RepresentWomen, with audience Q&A following. Copies of Winning the Earthquake will be available for purchase, and attendees will have the opportunity to have their books signed.

This event is part of a nationwide series of book talks and community conversations sponsored by the Jeannette Rankin Foundation, offering a meaningful opportunity to reflect on Rankin’s fearless leadership and her lasting impact on our country and its democratic ideals.

Founded through a bequest from Rankin’s estate, the Jeannette Rankin Foundation carries her mission forward by providing unrestricted Scholar Grants and wraparound support services to nontraditional women students who are transforming their futures through education. Learn more at .
