Debra Granik: Unseen AmericaCONBODY VS EVERYBODY (2024)
Sunday, March 22nd at 12 PM
with director Debra Granik in person
Filmed over the course of eight years, Debra Granik’s epic documentary follows a charismatic ex-con, Coss Marte, as he builds Conbody, a gym inspired by workouts he developed while in prison. Committed to employing trainers who were formerly incarcerated, Coss creates a community fighting to break the cycle of recidivism. Granik documents the lives of a series of formerly incarcerated people as they slip in and out of Coss’s life, while at the same time painting a portrait of the teeming life and energy of NYC’s Lower East Side. (USA, 2024, 324 mins, English | Dir. Debra Granik)
