About this Event

As AI reshapes filmmaking, how does a director maintain authorship, performance, and creative control? Drawing from his experiments combining generative AI, motion capture, Unreal Engine, virtual cameras, and facial performance, Alton Glass breaks down an evolving hybrid filmmaking pipeline that moves beyond prompting toward a more directable process—keeping human performance and the filmmaker's creative vision at the center.

About the presenter:

Alton Glass is a filmmaker and creative technologist exploring how AI, XR, real-time technologies, and emerging media are reshaping cinematic storytelling. He is the Founder and CEO of GRX Immersive Labs, where he develops creative, production, and talent pathways that help storytellers engage with emerging technologies and participate in the evolving creative economy.

His work spans film, immersive storytelling, virtual production, and AI-enabled creative workflows. Glass is an Oculus Launch Pad alum and Unreal Engine Virtual Production Fellow whose projects include The March, created in collaboration with TIME and the Estate of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and POV: Points of View, an immersive project exploring AI surveillance that premiered at the Tribeca Festival.

Through GRX, Glass works across entertainment, technology, education, and workforce development to expand access to the tools, skills, networks, and opportunities shaping the future of storytelling.
