This master class explores how production designers collaborate with filmmakers to uncover the character of a place and translate the passage of time into visual storytelling.
About the presenter:
Aiyana Trotter is an award-winning production designer with over 20 years of experience creating distinctive visual worlds for film and television. Her television credits include Black-ish, The Wonder Years, Abbott Elementary, Family Reunion, Poppa’s House, LA to Vegas, and Everything’s Trash. Her film work features collaborations with director Jennifer Phang on Advantageous and Half-Life, as well as Tina Mabry’s Mississippi Damned. Trotter’s work has received multiple Art Directors Guild Award nominations, including a win for Excellence in Production Design for Netflix’s Family Reunion. With a background in environmental and theatrical design, she brings an architectural and character-driven approach to her work, using production design to shape the worlds in which stories unfold.
