Dip Into Beeswax Candle Making

Dip, shape, fold and explore your way through the remarkable world of beeswax!
Join us at the PumpHouse Museum on Saturday, August 29 for Dip into Beeswax, a hands-on creative program for all ages.
Local beekeeper Brendan Goff, President of the Limestone Beekeepers’ Guild, will introduce participants to the traditional art of candle dipping. Starting with a simple wick, you’ll repeatedly dip it into warm beeswax, gradually building your own candle layer by layer. Candle dipping will take place outdoors, rain or shine, under a tent.
Inside the Education Hive, local Mulberry Waldorf School teacher Gillian Goff will lead beeswax modelling sessions combining storytelling and creativity. Sessions will be offered three times each hour and will last approximately 15 minutes.
You can also make an origami bee, view a live observation hive and explore the BEES! exhibition during your visit.
