Digital Safety & Scam Prevention Workshop

Digital scams are becoming increasingly sophisticated, but knowing the warning signs can help you protect yourself and the people you care about.
Join the Ukiah Police Department for a free Digital Safety & Scam Prevention Workshop designed to help community members recognize, avoid, and respond to common digital threats. This practical and easy-to-understand presentation is especially helpful for older adults, family members, and caregivers, but all community members are welcome.
During the workshop, attendees will learn about:
- Fraudulent text messages and phone calls
- Social media and online marketplace scams
- Aggressive computer pop-ups and online security concerns
- AI voice cloning and caller verification
- Family safe words and code words
- Safely preserving digital evidence for law enforcement
The workshop will also include a live question-and-answer session. Attendees will receive informational materials and a take-home resource packet with additional safety guidance.
