About this Event

Learn the basics of modeling and animation in Blender from an artist's perspective, then design your own kinetic object! Participants will have the opportunity to include their moving sculptures in a collaborative online digital gallery. Instructions will also be given on best practices for exporting models to a range of common workflows such as 3d printing, video games, and animation. Participants must bring their own laptop or tablet with Blender already installed.

ANNAPURNA KUMAR makes animated films and soft sculpture, usually in connection to themes of extreme weather, geologic time, technological skepticism, and human connection through collaboration. Her work has shown at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles, Banff Center, the Walker Art Center, The Greek Theater, REDCAT, Times Square, The Austin Museum of Digital Art, The Wende Museum, the American Civil War Museum, and San Francisco's Other Cinema. She has taught at UCLA, CalArts, and Whittier College.
