About this Event
John Waterhouse, FRAS, poses the question "Did the Big Bang Really Happen?" in astronomy presentations, exploring the evidence supporting the theory that the universe expanded from a hot, dense state roughly 13.8 billion years ago, rather than a single explosion in space.
This hybrid meeting is also available via the Zoom app.
John Waterhouse is a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society (FRAS) and a member of the Bradford Astronomical Society. John read Physics at Oxford just after Stephen Hawking but, unlike him, was not very good at it so went into industry and enjoyed a career in business. Having been given an early cosmology book as a school prize - Herman Bondi's "Cosmology" (1961) - I maintained that interest and returned to it in earnest in the last fifteen years. Now my delight is thinking and talking about the Universe and discussing it with fellow enthusiasts
