We warmly invite you to join us for a Sunday Dharma Gathering. Each Gathering includes a brief meditation instruction and practice, a presentation on a dharma topic, and open discussion followed by refreshments and socializing.

This Sunday's topic is "Freedom from Mental Confinement" with Vegan Aharonian

Michelangelo’s famous "unfinished prisoners" sculptures serve as a powerful metaphor for the modern human mind. Carved as if struggling to break free from the marble that encases them, they remind us that liberation is not something foreign or earned, but our inherent, natural state.

Too often, however, we remain trapped within a self-imposed Pr*son—constrained and weighed down by beliefs about who we are, rigid ideas of right and wrong, the pressure of external expectations, and the burden of habitual behaviors. This internal confinement often manifests as a persistent, low-grade anxiety; a background noise of mild discomfort and fear that things won't turn out as we hope.

What does true freedom from this mental Pr*son feel like? How can we catch a glimpse of it, and more importantly, how do we get there?
Join us as we explore the path toward liberation from self-imposed slavery. Together, we will examine the roots of these mental constraints and engage in practical exercises designed to cultivate and elevate the energy of true freedom.
