About this Event
Dimed, Boulderdash and Electronics Symposium are excited to team up again and host the 'Noise is Louder than Words' tour on it's trip down to the deep south-west.
Friday 17th promises Kinetic, unique and intensive performances ranging from Ambient Drone, Impulsive Noise and Industrial Dancehall, all with live visuals and support from 2 of our local favourites!
The 'NiLtW' crew are also providing an afternoon of Talks and Workshops for Saturday 18th!
Hands on live visuals for the eyes! Experimental techniques for the voice! Neuroscience for the brain! Distortion for the guts!
Grab a ticket to either at £8 (suggested) or both the gig and all the workshops for £14!
This is a NOTAFLOF event, please get in touch if you have any ticket-price queries and we'll happily sort something out!
See you there!
Dhangsha:
“Dhangsha” (Bengali for ‘destruction’) is the project and alias of electronic artist Aniruddha Das. Working at the interface of bass culture and experimental noise, he explores minimalism, repetition and fragmentation, instigating turbulent interactions between metered rhythm and abstract noise. His sparse but heavy beats underpin alien call and response motifs with the entire mix subjected to extreme distortions.
Internal Object:
Internal Object is a solo noise, ambient, electro-acoustic project. Internal Object has a B.S.c and M.S.c in Cognitive Neuroscience and uses this training and background to create psychologically uneasy atmospheres from DIY synths, pedals and an alto saxophone.
Jena Jang:
Jena Jang (Yeaeun Jang) is a Korean experimental musician, performer, and DIY instrument builder based in Prague and Seoul. The practice combines noise, improvised vocals, and self-built electronics into bodydriven performances exploring emotional release, transformation, and the connection between human and non-human worlds.
Humansfan:
humansfan is a visual artist working with digital debris and accelerated collapse. The practice turns low-resolution fragments and unstable screenshots, along with mirrored surfaces, into dense projection environments that behave like shifting weather inside a noise set. Each visual field studies how images fracture under contemporary pressure and how glass dissolves into sand once it enters circulation within the contemporary platform economy.
Mono On:
Will Parker (Mono On) is an audio-visual artist and lecturer based in Penryn, Cornwall. His work explores materials and materiality, with a particular interest in the relationships between field recording, modular synthesis, text and image. His creative process is centred around discovery, chance encounters and the body in the landscape.
Tean Bourdeux:
Tean Bourdeux is a contemporary sound and visual artist based in Penryn. Her work traces a thin line between performance and installation, reaching into memory and fidelity as rich subject matter.
Previous work has utilised tape loops, harmoniums and synth drones modulated with visual input from movement and the space itself.
Most notably, 'Vessel' explored water as both a medium and a metaphor for memory and transformation, weaving together live performance, motion-tracked interpretive dance and CRT monitor visuals into a rich, sensory experience.
Keep your eyes on us and/or give us a shout for any more details and info.
