Devotion is one of the deepest pleasures within power exchange. It is the desire to offer your attention, discipline, effort, presence, endurance, service, or commitment to someone whose unique desires genuinely matter to you. The satisfaction of anticipating a need before it is spoken. The pride of doing something well enough to deserve appreciation. The quiet joy of becoming indispensable.
But devotion only exists if someone is willing to receive it.
For many people in the leading role, receiving another person's offering is more difficult than giving instructions. To truly receive devotion requires confidence. It asks us to accept responsibility for another person's trust, to communicate clearly, to offer guidance when needed, to praise generously, and to shape another person's experience with intention and care. And to find the balance between receiving what is offered and asking for what we want.
For one day and evening, we explore devotion and the delicate tension between offering and receiving.
DAY
Through embodied exercises, rituals, conversation, play, and reflection, we investigate the many forms devotion can take within power exchange.
Service.
Discipline.
Ritual.
Praise.
Guidance.
Gratitude.
Care.
Responsibility.
Authority.
Participants in the following role will be invited to discover what they most naturally long to offer. What kind of service feels deeply satisfying? What qualities do they most enjoy embodying? How does devotion become something freely given rather than merely expected?
Participants in the leading role will explore the complementary practice of receiving. How do we recognise another person's gifts? How do we ask for more? How do we communicate appreciation? When do we offer correction? When do we ask for more? How do we do less to make space for another person's devotion? And how do we hold authority in a way that allows devotion to flourish rather than diminish?
NIGHT
As evening falls, the workshop transforms into an evening of immersive practice. The room becomes a living exploration of devotion expressed through power exchange. There will be service, rituals, appreciation, guidance, generosity, conversation, playful challenges, and opportunities to deepen both your own dynamic and your understanding of what devotion means to you.
Throughout the evening, Anso and Jac will occasionally offer collective scores and invitations that draw the room together before opening the space again for each couple's own exploration.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
This is a couples event.
This evening - and the KNEEL series - is for everyone who is curious about exploring power exchange as more than a dynamic. As a practice. As serious play. As deeply erotic. As a way of cultivating presence, intimacy, and conscious connection. And as a way of exploring who we are as humans and as social beings longing to belong.
THE KNEEL SERIES
This event is part of the KNEEL series by Anso Vela and Jac Fabian: Six immersive workshops, rituals, dinners, and social experiences about power. They are for couples and run from September to December 2026. You can join one, some or all events.
CAN I JOIN AS A BEGINNER?
Yes you can. But be aware that the KNEEL series is not a step by step intro to how to play with power series. We explore together and in many different ways. We ask questions and find the answers within ourselves through exercises, play and reflections. You may learn a whole lot about what power exchange is about at its core for you, as we focus a lot on the why and how we bring ourselves more fully into the moments of power.
DO I NEED A PARTNER?
Yes you do! You need to sign up as a couple and at each KNEEL event one of you needs to be in the following and one in the leading role. You cannot come without a partner. You do not need to be romantic partners or sexual partners, but you need to be open and excited about being erotic with each other in a power dynamic.
At the opening of the evening we facilitate that you agree on your boundaries of the day with each other and to what extent you may be open to engage with others. This is up to you.
DRESSCODE
Wear something to make this a very special evening - elegant, erotic, beautiful - but definitely not ordinary clothes, office clothes or street clothes. Please respect this or you may not be allowed to enter.
WHAT TO BRING
Note book, water bottle, tools for punishment if you have them
