👣 Hike Description
Join us for one of the most rewarding hikes in the South Downs National Park, a challenging and scenic adventure packed with dramatic landscapes, sweeping ridges, and some of the finest viewpoints in southern England.

Starting from Hassocks, we head into beautiful chalk grassland before tackling our first major climb to Wolstonbury Hill, an ancient and peaceful summit offering magnificent views across the Sussex Weald.

Our next ascent takes us to the legendary Devil's Dyke, a vast natural valley steeped in local folklore and renowned for its breathtaking panoramas. On a clear day, enjoy far-reaching views across the South Downs and all the way to the English Channel.
Continuing along the rolling downs, we make our third climb to Edburton Hill, where quieter trails and open landscapes provide a perfect opportunity to appreciate the beauty and tranquillity of the National Park.

The final of the walk follows sections of the iconic South Downs Way, crossing open ridges and rolling hills before gradually descending towards the coast. As the sea comes into view, we'll make our way into vibrant Brighton, where our journey concludes beside the famous seafront. Here we'll be greeted by Brighton's colourful beach huts, lively promenade, and sweeping coastal views—providing a memorable finish to an outstanding day in the South Downs.

After the hike, we'll spend about an hour enjoying Brighton's vibrant seafront, giving everyone time to relax, take in the views, or dip in the water or enjoy some refreshments.

  • Climb three of the South Downs' most impressive hills
  • Explore rare chalk grassland rich in wildlife and wildflowers
  • Experience the spectacular views from Devil's Dyke
