In honor of Sally Ride, we will be hosting a Space-themed celebration with hands-on STEAM activities in our Discovery Gallery followed by a screening of "Zero Gravity," a film about a diverse group of middle-school students who go on the journey of a lifetime when they compete in a nationwide tournament to code satellites aboard the International Space Station. This will also be visitors’ first chance to view our new loan from the Smithsonian’s National Air & Space Museum that the Dennos recently received and installed. Through this event we hope to illuminate the ways that young people can contribute to science, technology, engineering, and math and to celebrate how the sciences shine in all of our lives. Freeze-dried astronaut ice cream available to the first 50 visitors!
