DesignTinkers 5-day Holiday Camp 1* (Aug)

Join us for an exciting 5-day Holiday Camp where children dive into a world of creativity and innovation! Designed to spark curiosity, this hands-on camp invites kids to explore a variety of make-and-build projects; encouraging experimentation, enhancing dexterity, and strengthening both creative and critical thinking skills. Each day brings a new opportunity to learn, create, and have fun through purposeful play and exploration.

On Day 1 to 3, students will Design a Home for their Families. Students will apply Design Thinking principles in understanding the needs and challenges of who they are designing for and be introduced to the basics of space planning for a home.

Students will translate their 2D planning to 3D model with consideration for architectural scale, light, ventilation, views and communal landscape areas in their design. They will learn basic model-making skills and get creative transforming everyday materials into their individual home model prototype. Every child’s home design will be different and unique catered to their needs!

On the last two days of the camp, Day 4 and 5, students will take on the role of thoughtful designers as they conceptualize, plan, and build a sanctuary tailored to the needs of a selected animal species: Penguins, Monkeys, Elephants, or Otters. Each species presents unique behavioral traits and environmental needs, offering a rich context for learning. They will then begin sketching a layout that considers spatial requirements, environmental features, climate needs, and opportunities for enrichment before building up a unique 3D prototype of their Animal Sanctuary.

All our camps are held in our spacious and conducive classrooms where students can create and explore freely under guidance.
