For the first time in many moons, Demetre Souliotes (aka Meech) is returning to the east coast! He’ll be here for a full weekend of training for both dancers and DJs, plus a special edition of his signature “Meech ‘n’ Friends” initiative for the DJ-curious to try their hand at the art of musical button-mashing.
We have residential neighbors at the VFW who appreciate their sleep and their resident-only parking spots. Please monitor your volume outside of the venue and take care not to park in marked resident spots or on the left-hand side of the garage (the right side is safe after the hours posted on the signs).
DJ INTENSIVE INFO
If you’ve always wondered what the folks sitting behind their laptops at the DJ booth are thinking, come dive into the mind of one of the most sought-after social DJs on the west coast! At the end of the intensive, attendees will have a chance to put together a mini-set that could be played live at the Saturday night dance 🎉 Meech ‘n’ Friends is Demetre’s ongoing project to support lesser-known, up-and-coming, and DJ-curious dancers in an environment that’s all about good vibes. We’re so excited to groove to a Meech ‘n’ (New) Friends power hour on Saturday night!

2:00pm-5:00pm Build, Texture, Create intensive with Meech (int+ WCS)
5:00pm-7:00pm Dinner break
7:00pm-9:00pm Level Up drop-in workshops with Meech (int+ WCS)
8:00pm-9:00pm Beginner WCS class with Megan Souza
9:00pm-11:45pm Social dancing with DJs Demetre and Alli + Meech ‘n’ (New) Friends DJ power hour
SUNDAY SCHEDULE
Private lessons available beginning at 12pm- send us a message to schedule!
*Classes marked as intermediate+ require dancers to have a solid grasp on basic west coast swing (side passes, push break, tuck, basic whip, inside & outside turns, starter step, etc.). If a class is not designated as int+, all dancers are welcome!

$20 Beginner workshop & social dance

Online registrations include a small processing fee to help offset PayPal and Stripe fees.
ABOUT MEECH
Demetre is an internationally known, respected, and sought after Champion West Coast Swing dance professional with over 20 years of competing, teaching, and performing at the highest level in the world. Demetre’s father introduced him to West Coast Swing at 17. From that day on, WCS has become Demetre’s all encompassing life’s passion, art form, career, and community. He exploded onto the scene taking 1st and 2nd place in almost every contest he entered. Within in 11 months, Demetre had ascended the ranks to the pinnacle of WCS, the Champions Division, and with his ability to continuously grow and adapt, his knowledge of dance, and his prowess and passion he is among a handful of dancers in the world that are currently successfully competing in Champions for over 20 years.
Demetre has traveled the globe teaching, performing, judging, DJing. He created the first ever West Coast Swing dance and community in China. He has countless achievements in dance, below are just a few that are near and dear to his heart:
