A Dementia Doula provides non-medical, holistic support and comfort to individuals with dementia and their families during the end-of-life journey. People with dementia often experience years of loss, leaving them at the end of life with little support. A Dementia Doula offers compassionate care, including education, guidance, and emotional, spiritual, and practical support, ensuring the individual and their loved ones are comforted and cared for during this difficult time.
Developed by P.K. Beville, founder of Second Wind Dreams, the Virtual Dementia Tour® and Empathic Transition programs are missioned to foster empathy and help caregivers better understand dementia. This leads to more compassionate and person-centered care.
