Dementia-Friendly Caribbean Festival Day for people living with Dementia
About this Event

Dementia-Friendly Caribbean Festival Day is a joyful celebration designed for people living with dementia, their care partners, families, and the wider community. Hosted by the Afro Cognitive Health Collective in collaboration with the Alzheimer Society of Peel, this culturally inclusive event brings the warmth, music, flavours, and traditions of the Caribbean into a safe, welcoming, and dementia-friendly environment.

Guests will enjoy Caribbean music, storytelling, cultural performances, interactive activities, traditional foods, and opportunities to connect with others who understand the dementia journey. The festival celebrates identity, belonging, and the importance of remaining connected to culture, while raising awareness about dementia and reducing stigma within Caribbean and Black communities.

Whether you are living with dementia, supporting a loved one, or simply want to learn more, everyone is welcome to join us as we celebrate culture, community, and compassionate care together.
