About this Event
Join us to explore what the North West’s economy will look like in 2040.
The North West is a lagging region in a lagging nation in productivity terms, although parts of the region have shown stronger than average productivity growth in recent years. How will this play out over the next decade and a half to 2040?
The North West Productivity Forum, the North West Business Leadership Team and Accenture have been working with regional stakeholders to explore scenarios for productivity in the North West by 2040.
The project aimed to explore alternative future pathways for economic development and identify actions that might make the more attractive outcomes more likely.
In this launch event, held as part of National Productivity Week, the project team will present the ‘success scenario’ for 2040 and the actions that can be taken to make it more likely, alongside the other alternative scenarios for productivity in the North West, and panel of business and regional stakeholders will discuss the implications.
The scenarios will be introduced by the project team: Andy Hulme, Head of Innovation and Growth at the North West Business Leadership Team, Kieron Flanagan, Professor of Science and Technology Policy at the University of Manchester, and Rachel Cooper, Cloud Advisory Senior Manager at Accenture’s Manchester Technology Centre.
This event will be held in-person only at Alliance Manchester Business School, with refreshments available on arrival.
Attendees may also wish to register for the Vital Topics event taking place following this event.
