Deep Listening and Tarot in The Meadow // Alan Watts, "Why You Shouldn't Be Afraid."

Get cozy in "Gertie the Yurtie" for some for deep listening, meditation, and discussion to expand our thinking and grow connections. Afterwards, tarot readings offered on a donation basis.

For this first installation, we will listen to Alan Watts speak on, "Why We Shouldn't Be Afraid At All" where he explores balance and unity.

We will arrive and enter the yurt without much discussion... perhaps a short introduction while setting up mats/nests. Please bring a small mat (yoga mat is fine), a pillow, blankets, eye mask or whatever supports you in feeling most comfortable to lay down or sit for about 60m. Slippers, cozy socks, and easy slip on outdoor shoes are good since the bathroom is accessed outside.

The lights will dim and we will simply listen to Alan. When the talk is over, I'll heat the tea kettle and open discussion with a few prompts but this will mostly be a casual and open format.

Whether you're a seasoned philosopher or simply curious about the mysteries of existence, we hope to listen to each other as much as Alan.

This is an experiment and things won't be perfect so be prepared to go with the flow. If strict form and structure are what you prefer, this probably isn't the event for you.
