The ocean's most mysterious wrecks, vibrant walls, and unique marine life often wait in the deep. If you’re tired of staying on the "shallow end" and want to safely explore down to 130 feet (40 meters), it’s time to become an SSI Deep Diver!
Deep diving is a thrill, but it requires specialized knowledge and skills to manage the unique challenges of depth. Join the Arizona Dive Center team for this essential specialty where we turn "going deep" into a safe, confident adventure.
What You’ll Master:
The Science of Depth: Learn how pressure affects your body, your equipment, and your gas consumption (it goes faster than you think!).
Narcosis Management: Understand the "martini effect"—how to recognize it, manage it, and keep your head clear.
Advanced Dive Planning: Learn to plan deep adventures with your dive computer to ensure you stay well within your no-decompression limits.
Specialized Gear: We’ll discuss redundant air sources, high-performance regulators, and why buoyancy control is even more critical at 100+ feet.
Emergency Protocols: Practice the skills needed to handle any deep-water situation with total calm.
Course Details:
3 Deep dives are required for certification. We do the 60' here locally at Lake Pleasant. 80' and 100' are done in the ocean.
Prerequisites: * Open Water Diver certification.
Minimum age: 15 years old.
