The philosophy of Taoism, like most forms of mysticism, is a system of truth held together by puzzles and contradictions. Who feels it knows it. The ten thousand things are representative of all of life and are a product of yin and yang. Our speaker member Dee Stennett will explore the contradictions, the numbers and how living in the moment can bring peace.

DEANNA (DEE) STENNETT was born in Massachusetts to a Baptist family. She was raised by parents who believed in a God who punished, gave rules, who required a savior to get into heaven. Dee didn’t really find her spiritual path until she started acupuncture school at age 32, when a shaman taught everyone how to do a shamanic journey.
Dee taught at Maryland University of Integrative health for 20 years in their acupuncture program. She also received her master’s degree from Maryland University of Integrative health in Transformative Leadership and Social Change. Dee has studied shamanism with the Foundation for Shamanic Studies, Sandra Ingerman, Eliot Cowan, Tom Cowan (not related) and a Lakota trained shaman named Two Moons. She is an ordained minister with Universal Life Ministries.
Dee loves music, art, animals, nature, children and poetry. She is married to her wonderful beloved Missy Carney, and has two adult daughters and one granddaughter. She is a member of Mountain Light and lives in Blue Ridge.
