Deconstructing Yin Yoga on the New Moon: It’s Not Simply About Long Holds
with Kathleen Epler
Saturday, October 10th
3:00-5:00 pm
Cost: $40
Exploration of tension and compression, releasing fascia through body weight and gravity. The rebound or space between the poses will also be addressed. Together we will meet for a brief discussion followed by a traditional 75 minutes Yin Yoga practice. During our practice we will sink into poses, safely finding our body’s full expression. As we soften in we will learn to quiet the mind and tune into sensation.
This practice is meditative in nature with holds typically between 3 and 5 minutes. I like to call Yin the yoga of aging backwards as it is deeply nourishing to our cells and rehydrates the tissue.
In community we will close this workshop with an open sharing if you like, to discuss what you learned, how it felt in your body. Just a touch playful at the end, join us in an exercise showcasing anatomical uniqueness. As my students know, “Yoga is for Every Body”
