December Storytellers: Write Your Story. Submit Your Story. Read Your Story.

This is a special Storytellers night—where the stories don’t end when you leave the room.
For this special edition of Storytellers, every person who takes the mic will first submit their piece to the Emerald Coast Storytellers website. Then, on the night of the event, those stories will leave the page and come alive in the room.
Come listen to stories told by the people who live here, create here, remember here, and call the Emerald Coast home. Some will make you laugh. Some might catch you off guard. Some may stay with you long after the last word.
The format is simple: write it, submit it, tell it.
Whether you’re a longtime Storytellers regular or stepping up for the very first time, this is an invitation to put something you've written into the world—and then share it with a room full of people.
Submit your story via emailing [email protected], then join us in person to hear it told aloud.
For this event, every storyteller must have a piece published on the Emerald Coast Storytellers website before taking the stage.
Your story can be fiction or nonfiction. A personal essay, poem, tall tale, reflection, confession, memory, or something that doesn't fit neatly into any category at all.
If you’ve written it, we want to read it.
If you want to tell it, we want to hear it.

December's Story Theme: Things Worth Telling
What makes a story worth telling?
Maybe it’s the story you’ve carried for years. The one you’ve told a hundred times. The one you’ve never told anyone. Maybe it’s a fleeting moment that somehow stayed with you, a strange little detail you can’t forget, a hard-earned lesson, a ridiculous memory, a question you’re still wrestling with, or something you simply need to get out of your head and onto the page.
For this special edition of Storytellers, we’re celebrating the stories we believe are worth putting into the world.
The funny ones. The tender ones. The strange ones. The unfinished ones. The stories that changed us, surprised us, entertained us, or simply refused to leave us alone.
Because sometimes a story becomes more meaningful when we share it.
What’s yours?
