The September full moon is known as the Harvest Moon because it appears in the sky around the time that Native Americans harvested their corn. We will explore parts of Seven Islands by the light of the moon, and discuss the nocturnal animals, including owls,insects, and bats that live in the park. We will look and listen for evidence of them as they emerge from their daytime hiding places.Please dress for the weather and come prepared to walk approximately 2 miles on both paved and unpaved trails. We suggest that you bring flashlights in case they are needed, but ask that you only use them when necessary. Red or other colored lights are preferred.
