From Bias to Belonging: An Interfaith Call to CompassionCompass Gallery - Provo, Utah
Join us for an evening of connection and reflection as community faith leaders come together to explore how we can move from bias to belonging. This interfaith event invites open hearts and honest conversation about peace, inclusion, and compassion in a divided world.
The evening will begin with a grounding meditation led by Rachael Whipple from the Awakening Valley Sangha, followed by messages from Casey McFarland (LDS Church), Pastor Jamie White (First Presbyterian Church), Imam Shuaib Din (Utah Islamic Center), and Rabbi Sam Spector (Congregation Kol Ami).
In a time when the Jewish and Muslim communities are experiencing deep global pain and tension, having both Rabbi Spector and Imam Shuaib share the same stage is a profound gesture of hope and courage. Their willingness to come together in dialogue reminds us that compassion and understanding can transcend even the most difficult divides.
Guests will enjoy appetizers, a brief guided stretch, and a Q&A panel where you can ask questions about the presenters’ faiths, traditions, or experiences, and hear how each one approaches belonging, empathy, and shared humanity.
The event will take place at the beautiful Compass Gallery, surrounded by inspiring artwork and the chance to view the current exhibit. The gallery’s atmosphere of creativity and reflection makes it the perfect setting for an evening centered on understanding and compassion.
