P&T Knitwear is pleased to welcome recent debut novelists Juliet Izon (The Encore), Portia Elan (Homebound), and Sara Maurer (A Good Animal), to discuss their experiences writing, editing, and launching their first books into the world, especially in this era of social media saturation, AI, and indie-to-trad-deal publishing.

The conversation will feature an audience Q&A, as well as book signing afterwards.

Doors open at 6:30pm with the talk starting closer to 7:00pm. Come early and grab a drink from the !

About the authors:

Portia Elan earned an MFA from the University of Victoria before returning home to California, where she has worked as a teacher and public librarian. She is a former Lambda Literary Fellow and lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her wife and an abundance of cats.

Juliet Izon is a journalist and author who has written for publications including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Condé Nast Traveler, Food & Wine, and Vogue. She lives with her husband, daughter, and two Ragdoll cats, splitting her time between New York City and the Hudson Valley. When she's not writing, you can usually find her at a show: Broadway, ballet, art, or (naturally) a concert.

Sara Maurer lives with her family in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. She earned her bachelor's degree from Albion College and her master's from Eastern Michigan University. She honed her creative writing craft while completing Stanford's Continuing Studies Novel Writing Certificate program. Her short fiction can be found in Dunes Review, Hominum Journal, and The Twin Bill.

• Books will be available for purchase at the event.
• The talk will be followed by a book signing. Books signed at P&T Knitwear events must be purchased from P&T Knitwear.
