Death Café

Welcome. This event is an opportunity to gather and talk about something we often avoid talking about - death.

Structured on the Death Cafe model, conversation will occur in small groups, and be supported by question prompts. You are welcome to bring your own questions and curiosities to the table. Perhaps you want to talk about what you think happens after death, share a story of a beautiful death, or what you fear or hope for. This is a group conversation - no theme, teaching or changing other people's minds.

Please note that this is not a grief or support group. All participants are asked to arrive with an open mind and heart, ready to hear other people's opinions. If you are unsure if this event is a fit for you at this time please reach out to Maux to chat about it.

Facilitator: Maux Elworthy

Maux is a practicing Death Doula and graduate of the Douglas College End-of-Life Certification program. With over 15 years of experience working in mental health, suicide intervention, and bereavement support Maux is interested in holding space for conversations about death, grief, and other mortal issues.
