Joined by a powerhouse lineup of seasoned players, Deadgrass reimagines the music of Jerry Garcia—drawing from the Grateful Dead, Old & In the Way, and Jerry Garcia Band—for an electrifying night of acoustic groove, improvisation, and roots-driven exploration at the MAC.
Deadgrass is the inspired collaboration of multi-instrumentalist Matt Turk and Grammy Award–winning guitarist C Lanzbom, united by a deep love for the music of Jerry Garcia. The band features an exceptional lineup of seasoned artists—bassist Dave Richards, banjoist Kris Bauman, and jazz violinist Kensuke Shoji—whose collective experience spans Broadway, major festivals, international touring, and collaborations with legends across jazz, folk, rock, and soul. Together, Deadgrass delivers virtuosic musicianship, fearless improvisation, and joyful reinterpretations that honor Garcia’s legacy while forging a sound that is vibrant, dynamic, and entirely their own.
