📸✨ A new season. A new show. A new spark.Ten years ago, I dreamed of a stage where photography wouldn’t just be shown,
but shared.
Where photographers would speak, not just be seen.
Where stories could land in hearts – not only hang on walls.
And now, somehow, it’s year ten.
Ten years of De Donkere Kamer.
Of rooms filled with light and questions.
Of goosebumps, silence, laughter, connection.
Of standing ovations and first-time nerves.
On September 30th, we return to Pakhuis De Zwijger in Amsterdam for our second show there.
And I can honestly say: this one feels big.
Not because of the names (though they’re pretty amazing).
But because we need spaces like this.
Now more than ever.
Here’s what you can expect:
📖 Anton Corbijn presents his brand new book Corbijn, Anton. A rare moment of reflection from a true icon.
🐢 Anaïs Lopez shares the story behind her exhibition The Turtle and the Monk – a poetic journey that crosses borders and disciplines.
🌊 Stephan Vanfleteren brings us into his haunting new work Transcripts of a Sea. His way of seeing… it lingers.
📚 Floor Martens unveils her latest book – one of those projects that stays with you.
🗞️ A visual columnist (yes, someone who writes with images) will share a piece created especially for this evening.
🖼️ And a curator joins us to talk about an upcoming exhibition and the ideas behind it – why now, why this, why it matters.
This is not just a show.
It’s an evening of ideas.
It’s where people who care about photography, storytelling, meaning, and the in-between moments come together.
You don’t need to be a photographer. You just need to feel drawn to images and the stories they carry.
And let’s be honest: in a world of endless scroll, being in a room together — listening, watching, reflecting — feels like a radical act.
