DDP Level Two Training – Introduction
Dyadic Developmental Practice and Psychotherapy (DDP) is an approach that focuses on psychological interventions and parenting strategies for children and adolescents who have experienced developmental trauma and have attachment difficulties.
This Level Two course is a 4-day (28-hour) training designed for clinical psychologists, social workers, parent mentors, therapists, and other practitioners who have already completed Level One training. It builds on the ideas and skills previously introduced and is intended for those beginning to apply DDP principles in their day-to-day practice.
What the Course Will Entail
The aims of this training are:
- To develop a deeper understanding of the theory and practice behind DDP interventions and parenting principles.
- To revisit and expand on key themes, including areas participants would like further teaching on.
- To provide opportunities for participants to reflect on both successes and challenges when applying the model in practice, through supervision or consultation focused on their work with families.
- To support personal and professional development by exploring how participants’ own attachment histories and experiences may influence their work (through small group discussions).
