DC Writers' Salon Writing Lab: What’s In Your Closet?

Our lives are full of possessions. For most, the things we surround ourselves with hold meaning. Objects can be a source of memory, attachment, discovery, and sensory engagement.

This workshop will help you:

• Explore objects as inspiration for creative writing (poetry, fiction, nonfiction, experimental – wherever inspiration takes you)
• Learn to incorporate objects to enrich and layer the work

This workshop is led by DC Writers' Salon member, Raegan O'Lone. Raegan’s writing has appeared in literary journals and anthologies. Her personal essay about lipstick, which was about far more than makeup, was awarded First Place in Bethesda Magazine/Bethesda Urban Partnership’s Essay Contest. She recently completed a novel about a museum where objects give voice to the unresolved stories people want to release from their lives.
