Day on the Camino - Kennesaw Mountain National Park - December Hike

Our Day on the Camino hike lets you choose your own distance of 3.5 miles, 7 miles, or 12 miles. No matter your distance, we'll all start at the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park Visitor Center in Cobb County and enjoy lunch on the Marietta Square.

Meet at 9:00 am at the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park Visitor Center

Note: If the parking lot is full, you can park in the overflow parking which is a 15-minute walk to the Visitor's Center.

Please arrive early so that you have enough time to walk from the overflow lot to the Visitor Center and still arrive by 9:00 am.

Parking fee is $5.

Hike options:

3.5 miles - Walk from the Visitor's Center to Marietta Square on the Mountain to River Trail.

We will offer a shuttle from the Square back to the Visitor's Center. The shuttle will leave approximately 3 hours after the start of the hike. If you want to ride the shuttle, you will need to leave your phone number with Shauna before embarking. She will text you updates with a more concrete departure time.

7 miles - Out and back from the Visitor's Center to Marietta Square on the Mountain to River Trail.12 miles (+/-) - Hike up Big Kennesaw, over Little Kennesaw, around the base to Camp Brumby. We will exit the park at Kirk Road and continue to Marietta Square on the Mountain to River Trail. Return to the Visitors Center via MTR.

All three groups will have lunch at Marietta Square. You can pack a lunch or grab take-out from one of the local restaurants.
