International concert organist and competition winner David Baskeyfield will play the 33rd annual Beeman Organ Concert, Friday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m. in First Presbyterian Church of Glens Falls, NY. A thrilling performer, David earned degrees from Eastman, and won the prestigious Canadian International, Saint Albans, Miami and other organ competitions, as well as the American Guild of Organists National Competition in Organ Improvisation.
He will play a two-part program, featuring virtuosic masterworks by Bach (Toccata in F Major), Schumann, Vierne and Healey Willan (Introduction, Passacaglia and Fugue), and some Halloween-themed pieces, including 'The Sorcerer’s Apprentice', 'Danse Macabre' and 'Suite Gothique' by Boëllmann. Suggested donation is $15, reservations are not needed, and a reception will follow.
You will not want to miss this exceptionally engaging performer and fun program to fully showcase our two large pipe organs, comprising one of the 100 largest pipe organs in the country! Doors open at 6:45 p.m. and the program will last about 95 minutes with intermission.
